As the structures of our past inexorably crumble, we are not limited to choosing between static preservation and cool disregard. Simple appreciation is an option. The passage of time and the progressive effects of decay have an attraction all their own. Recognizing that there exists much more than just the Devil in the details - and that the viewer brings both a critical component, and a unique perspective, to the visual experience - it is perhaps best that the pictures be permitted to speak for themselves.
